Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) Plans React to New York State Budget
After Rejecting Proposals to Eliminate MLTC Plans, New York’s Elected Leaders Should Focus on Protecting and Strengthening the Program and its Enrollees
NEW YORK – The New York State Coalition of Managed Long Term Care Plans released the following statement on the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget by New York State lawmakers:
“Throughout this legislative session, New York’s MLTC Plans have worked to highlight the vital role the program plays in helping aging and vulnerable New Yorkers live healthy and independent lives. We thank lawmakers and the governor for rejecting proposals that would have eliminated MLTC plans or imposed counterproductive procurement proposals on the program. While we are hopeful that Medicaid managed care quality incentive funds will be fully restored in next year’s budget, we look forward to continuing our work to encourage New York’s elected leaders to preserve and protect this vital program so that the nearly 300,000 New Yorkers can maintain access to the care they need and remain safely in their homes.”
